Perritos are the traditional style of cigar made in the Dominican Republic. Perritos may be rustic, but what they lack in looks, they make up for in taste. These variants on the cheroot shape are indeed ugly, but they are meant to look rough. The primitive appearance is part of their charm. The cheroot shape was developed by the indigenous population of the Caribbean to use up their own home-grown tobaccos. It was never intended to be anything fancy, simply a home-made product for home bodies. Despite the rough appearance of the wrapper, their relaxed shape and available flavors have made them hugely popular at The Cigar Hut. Hand made with long filler tobaccos, Perritos are definitely one great cigar.
